The five variables — and what each one actually changes.
Most private-label briefs arrive as a fibre name and a pack count. Those are two of five, and the other three are where products go wrong on shelf.
1. Fibre — how it absorbs, and what it says
Abaca takes up oil fast and reads as premium. Flax and pure linen are the dependable middle. Rice paper is soft and traditional. Bamboo charcoal and green tea are as much a story as a material. Microporous film absorbs differently from any paper and behaves differently over makeup. This is the variable brands think about most, and it is not the one that usually breaks the product.
2. Weight — the one that usually breaks it
Too light and one sheet cannot finish a T-zone. Too heavy and the pack feels thick and costs more than it needs to. Weight, not brand, decides whether a sheet works in one press.
3. Sheet size — quietly decides your real pack count
A small sheet needs two or three passes. A “100-sheet” pack of small, light sheets that needs three per sitting is a 33-sheet pack — and the shopper works that out by week two. Size and weight together are your actual value proposition.
4. Finish — plain, powdered, or film
Plain for clean shine control. Powder-coated for the customer who is wearing makeup and wants to blot without stripping it — the single most common complaint about blotting paper is that it lifts foundation along with the oil. Film for the heaviest sebum and the most compact format.
5. Pack — the part the shopper actually holds
Slim booklet for a handbag. Compact with a mirror for touch-ups. One-hand dispenser for a desk or a car. Roll for a counter. The use case you name on the front of the pack decides the format inside — a pack sold for midday shine and a pack sold as a makeup touch-up are two different products even with identical paper.

This is the part most “one-stop” suppliers outsource. Because we convert the base paper ourselves, the recommendation you get is shaped by your brief rather than by what happens to be in our warehouse. Premium naturals
Abaca (Manila hemp) · flax · pure linen · rice paper · hemp. The fibres people pay more for, and the ones that photograph well in a flat-lay.
Story materials
Bamboo charcoal · green tea · coffee-infused linen. Functional enough to be honest about, distinctive enough to build a range around.
Certified fibre
FSC options where your retailer or market asks for chain-of-custody on paper.
Powder-coated 2-in-1
Blots and re-sets in one press. This is the format that answers the “it takes my makeup off” objection, and it is a different manufacturing process, not a different print.
Microporous film

Minimum order
From 3,000 units per SKU on a stock format with your own artwork. Custom sheet sizes, bespoke packaging and custom substrates carry their own minimums — we tell you which one applies to your brief in the first reply, not after you commit.
Samples
Free swatch sets. A ready format samples in about 72 hours; custom development runs around 15 days. We sign an NNN — non-disclosure, non-use, non-circumvention — before you send anything you would not want repeated.
Production
25–35 days for a normal run. 8,000 m² plant, Class-100,000 cleanroom, capacity to 1,000,000 units a month — so a pilot at 3,000 and a scale-up to national retail are the same supplier, not two.

Yes, and for a launch range it is usually the right call — one premium natural, one story material, one powder-coated. Each SKU carries its own minimum.
