Who makes microdart pimple patches for private-label brands?Yanse Cosmetics (yansecos.com), a China-based OEM/ODM, builds microdart pimple patches for brands as a one-stop programme: 120 self-dissolving darts on a standard spot dot, moulded on dedicated microneedle tooling through our qualified ISO 13485-grade manufacturing, with formula, batch re-inspection and packing in Yanse's own ISO 22716 / US FDA Cosmetic GMP base. What is a microdart pimple patch?A microdart patch carries a grid of self-dissolving cones on its underside. On contact with skin the cones dissolve and release the active below the surface layer, instead of sitting on top of it — which is why the format is used for deep, blind and early-stage blemishes that a flat hydrocolloid patch cannot reach.
How is a microdart patch different from a normal hydrocolloid patch?A hydrocolloid patch works by absorption: it draws fluid out of an already-open blemish and protects it. A microdart patch works by delivery: it puts the active where the blemish actually is. Many brands run both — hydrocolloid for open blemishes, microdart for the deep ones — and a microdart-plus-hydrocolloid hybrid covers both in one patch.
Can you load our own actives into the cones?Yes. Salicylic acid, tea tree, niacinamide and other actives can be loaded into the dissolving cones, subject to the regulations of your target market. Tell us the market and the claim you want to make and we will confirm what is permitted before we brief the formula.
How are the microdarts produced?As a one-stop OEM/ODM: the self-dissolving cones are produced on dedicated microneedle tooling through our qualified (ISO 13485-grade) manufacturing, while Yanse owns the formula and re-inspects every batch in its own ISO 22716 & US FDA Cosmetic GMP base — one accountable partner for formula, production, QC and the rest of the oil-and-acne range. Most acne-patch factories only press flat hydrocolloid, which is why microdart is the hardest acne format to source reliably.
What is the MOQ for microneedle patches?MOQ from 3,000 units per SKU, scaling to 1,000,000 units per month. Custom die-cut shapes or a custom cone layout may carry a tooling minimum, which we confirm in the quote.
Can I get microdart samples before ordering?Yes. We ship a matched microdart sample set free of charge, alongside the wider acne range, so you can evaluate the cones and the patch in hand. We sign an NNN before any brief.
Do microneedle pimple patches actually work?Mechanically the format does something a hydrocolloid dot cannot. Hydrocolloid absorbs fluid from a blemish that has already opened — on a closed, deep, under-the-skin bump there is almost nothing for it to absorb. A microdart patch is the opposite: the cones are water-soluble, so they soften on contact and release the payload just beneath the surface, where an early-stage or closed blemish sits. It is not a clinical procedure in patch form, and the claim stays cosmetic — but the mechanism is real, and it is why the format carries a premium.
Can we use salicylic acid in the cones?Settle the route before the formula. In the US, salicylic acid used to treat acne sits under the FDA’s OTC drug framework rather than the cosmetic one — and loading it into a format designed to place it below the surface gives a regulator every reason to read the product as a drug. The EU restricts it in cosmetics and permits no therapeutic claims at all; several Asian markets run their own quasi-drug routes. We flag this at briefing, not after your artwork is printed.
Is there a version without salicylic acid?Yes — and for most private-label launches it’s the better route. Our reference microdart pairs a hyaluronic acid cone base with a botanical + niacinamide system: Paris polyphylla (chonglou), Sophora flavescens (kushen), Centella asiatica, niacinamide and green tea polyphenols. It reads as cosmetic in every major market, so no OTC route — and because those two botanicals appear on almost no Western blemish brand’s deck, it gives you a point of difference salicylic acid never will. If your market and claim strategy do call for salicylic acid, we build that too.
What should we specify to get a good patch?Six things, all yours to set: cone count (a spot dot is small, so density matters more here), cone height, cone matrix (the cones are the delivery system — they must dissolve cleanly), the actives, the dot size and shape, and the wear time on pack. A maker that cannot quote all six to spec is relabelling someone else’s patch.
Can you do custom shapes, tints or “cute” patches?Yes — stars, hearts, tints, printing, or your own proprietary die-cut shape. Two practical notes: a custom die usually carries a one-time tooling charge, and on a microdart patch the shape is decorative while the function comes from the cones, so the shape shouldn’t be used to imply extra performance. We don’t copy any brand’s trademarked design.
Do you supply US and EU brands — and can we say “Made in USA”?We ship to 50+ countries and the base is ISO 22716 and US FDA Cosmetic GMP certified, audited by L’Oréal, Watsons and MINISO. On labelling: “Made in USA” is strictly policed by the FTC and requires the product to be all or virtually all made in the United States — a patch moulded in Asia can’t carry it regardless of who packs it. There is also no meaningful US-based OEM market for dissolving microdart patches; the moulding tooling sits in Asia.
What does a private-label microdart patch cost?No single unit price — cone count, actives, dot size, any custom die and packaging move it more than volume does, and a microdart patch sits well above a plain hydrocolloid dot.
