01 — SPECIALIST OEM / ODM

The hardest of the three formats — done properly.

Hydrogel lip mask OEM/ODM, cast on our own line from the same plant-based gel base as our eye and face masks. A lip is a compound curve in constant motion, it has a taste, and its colourant rules are stricter than a face product's — we brief all three before artwork. MOQ from 3,000 per SKU, 72-hour sampling.

03 — FORMATS & SHAPES

Two constructions, one gel base.

Shape choices are limited by the same curvature problem that makes the format hard. Both routes run on the line that makes your eye and face SKUs.

ConstructionFitApplicationNotes
One-piece, butterfly or lobedGood, with a centre notch at the philtrumSimplest — one piece onThe common answer; the notch improves fit noticeably
Two-piece, upper and lowerBest conformityFiddlier for the userWorth it where fit is the selling point

Sizing matters more here than on other formats — variance between users is proportionally large and there is far less forgiving margin than on a face sheet. Packaging: single sachet or multi-pair pouch. Custom die available; a stock die keeps a launch at the entry band.

05 — THE FACTORY

An 8,000㎡ factory your buyers can trust.

Hydrogel casting runs in our own plant in Zhangzhou, Fujian — not a partner line, not a trading arrangement. The same roof that has passed on-site supplier audits with L'Oréal, Watsons, MINISO and Mentholatum.

06 — CLAIMS DISCIPLINE

The line between a cosmetic and a problem.

A lip mask hydrates, softens and temporarily reduces the look of fine vertical lines. Those are the claims the evidence carries.

  • Cosmetic wording only — no drug or medical claims, and no permanent-volume claims
  • Colourant clearance confirmed per market for lip use, in writing, before artwork is drafted
  • Plumping via irritants (capsaicin, menthol, cinnamon derivatives) declared as what it is — controlled irritation, with a sting risk to disclose
  • Ingredients assessed for incidental ingestion, as lip products should be
  • US MoCRA and EU CPNP / CPSR support; halal-compatible plant gel base as standard
07 — SPECIFICATIONS

Everything your technical team needs.

The seven lines that decide whether a lip mask performs, and the ones we hold to at acceptance.

Gel systemPlant-based, leaning elastic — with a fold test as a stated pass/fail criterion
Finished gaugeThinner than the face mask, with tolerance and a stated measurement method
AdhesionAssessed on a curved, moving surface — a flat-plate test does not represent the application
TasteWritten into the sampling protocol, not left to chance
ColourantsLip-use clearance confirmed per target market, in writing
Shape & sizeOne-piece or two-piece, notch, and the size range
Wear timeDesigned-for time stated on pack — lip masks are typically worn shorter than face masks
08 — MOQ & PRICING BANDS

Test small, then scale fast.

The entry band applies to a stock lip die, a stock sachet with your artwork, and a ready or lightly adapted formulation.

5,000A confident first order, or a first reorder
10,000The point where custom tooling starts to make sense
30,000Established SKU, planned replenishment
50,000Volume programme, scheduled production slots

We quote a ladder rather than a single price, because setup, changeover and QC time are close to fixed and the per-unit cost falls in steps rather than smoothly. Bands are exact quantities, not ranges — 4,500 units is quoted at the 3,000 band. Tooling is a separate line, charged once and not repeated on reorders. Bands apply per SKU; where SKUs share a gel base, die or pouch, we confirm what overlaps. What actually sets a hydrogel minimum →

10 — PROCUREMENT FAQ

Questions buyers always ask.

Are you a lip mask manufacturer or a trading company? +
We are a direct manufacturer (OEM/ODM). Hydrogel lip masks are cast on our own line in our own 8,000㎡ factory in Zhangzhou, Fujian — Class-100,000 cleanroom, 11 QC checkpoints, ISO 22716 and US FDA Cosmetic GMP certified by Bureau Veritas.
What is the MOQ for private-label lip masks? +
From 3,000 units per SKU on a stock lip shape, a stock sachet with your artwork, and a ready or lightly adapted formulation. We quote in bands at 3,000 / 5,000 / 10,000 / 30,000 / 50,000; bands are exact quantities, not ranges, and tooling is a separate line charged once.
Is a lip mask just a small face mask? +
No, and this is the most common mistake in a lip brief. The lip is a compound curve in constant motion, so adhesion has to be higher and the gel more elastic or the mask lifts at the corners. Thickness has to come down to follow the contour. It also has a taste. And colourant rules for lip products are stricter than for face products.
What colourant rules apply to lip masks? +
Lip products sit in a tighter category in major markets. In the US, colour additives are approved by specific use area and the list permitted for lips is narrower than the general cosmetic list; the EU identifies lip-permitted colourants separately in its colourant annex. A pigment cleared for a face mask may not be usable on a lip mask in your target market — we confirm this in writing before artwork.
Does the lip mask have a taste? +
It can, and it has to be checked. Some effective actives — bitter botanical extracts and certain preservatives in particular — taste unpleasant, and a lip mask that works but tastes bad gets reviewed as a bad product. We build taste assessment into the sampling protocol rather than leaving it to chance.
Can lip masks be multi-colour? +
They can be made on our three-head line, but we would generally advise against it. On a lip format the zone width is only a few millimetres, and interface control at that scale costs more yield than the visual effect returns. Three-zone casting suits full-face sheets.
Can we add a lip mask to an existing eye or face SKU? +
Yes, and it is comparatively cheap to do. All three formats run from one gel base on one line, so a lip variant is a variant rather than a new development. It is the format constraints, not the formulation, that need briefing carefully.
How fast can we get samples? +
72 hours on a ready formulation and around 15 days for custom development. Quotations are returned within 24 hours. An NNN is available before you share a formula or brief.
